Insurance
One county's FAIR Plan figures, the measures insurers' rates must recognize, and the paperwork that shows an underwriter what was done. Nothing here says what your insurer will decide.

01The FAIR Plan in one county
The FAIR Plan publishes its policy count for every county in California. Sonoma County's is the one a person here has read at the source so far; another county's is added the day somebody reads it there.

Both figures are answered on the property, by the measures below. The assessment marks which a property has, which it lacks, and which a desk cannot see. The measures.
02Safer from Wildfires
The California Department of Insurance's Safer from Wildfires regulation names the property-level measures an insurer's rates must recognize. Five of them are work on the property:
- A Class A roof.
- A five-foot ember-resistant zone around the house.
- Ember-resistant vents.
- Defensible space kept to the rule.
- Membership of a Firewise USA community.
Each insurer sets its own discount for each measure, and the FAIR Plan, California's insurer of last resort, discounts the same ones.
03The IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home designation
The Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety designates a property, Base or Plus, that meets its standard and is re-checked each year. Some carriers recognize it: CSAA has been reported to quote FAIR Plan policyholders in Northern California and to offer three renewals to homes that hold it. A designation project on the pricing page is the path to it.
04The evidence packet
Every visit and every job ends with a dated packet: photographs, product specifications, the license and the warranty, and a line for each item naming the measure and the FAIR Plan discount it satisfies. A broker can forward it to an underwriter unchanged. If an insurer rejects the evidence for an item Fireveyor installed, Fireveyor re-documents or corrects it at no charge.
05The worksheet in your account
The account will hold an insurance worksheet: your carrier, your renewal date, and which of the measures the property appears to have or lack. It is not built yet; the account page says what is. The account.

07What this page is not
- Not a prediction about insurance. Nothing here says what an insurer will decide, and Fireveyor never promises a premium number.
- Not a guarantee that your carrier will recognize any measure. The evidence packet shows what was done; the insurer decides.
